What does Queen of Disks mean reversed?

The Thoth Tarot is traditionally read without reversed cards: the reader judges from the cards around it whether a card is well or ill dignified. This is its ill-dignified or blocked reading: Exhaustion from caring for others, neglect of yourself; or excessive attachment to comfort.

A reflective starting point

What is Queen of Disks asking you to look at?

Meaning changes with the position, the surrounding cards and your question. Take what follows as a language, not a verdict.

Read this card in a ritual Draw it from your own deck

Upright

Cultivate what you love with patience: your concrete care transforms and makes things flower.

At first sight

A generous, practical, affectionate person able to make fertile whatever she touches; or a phase of quiet prosperity. It points to care of the home, the body and resources.

Within you

The ability to nourish concretely: affection that expresses itself in doing and providing. It asks you not to forget your own needs while you look after those of others.

On the path

Water of Earth, the He of the final He, referred to Binah: the moisture that makes the soil fertile. She rules from 21° Sagittarius to 20° Capricorn, joining Sagittarian drive to Capricornian tenacity, like the desert that blooms after the rains.

The shadow

Ill-dignified, she is apathetic, servile, dependent, able to lose herself in routine or materialism.

Reversed

In the Thoth tradition a reversed card is read through its dignity with the neighbouring cards; this is its shadow side.

Exhaustion from caring for others, neglect of yourself; or excessive attachment to comfort.

In love, work and spirit

Love. A warm and protective partner; a relationship that creates home, stability and wellbeing.

Work. Careful management of resources, caring work, agriculture, household or business economics.

Spirit. Recognising the sacred in the fertility and generosity of nature.

Crowley's note

The Queen of Disks in the Thoth deck sits between an arid expanse and a river that makes it fertile, with a goat on a rock beside her and a globe of interlaced circles: matter allowing itself to be fertilised.
