Relationship Mirror Spread

How you see the other person and how they see themselves, what they represent to you and what you represent to them; in the middle the obstacles, then strengths and the probable result.

The positions

  1. Position 1

    You

Who you are today in this relationship: your starting position.

Who am I in this relationship?

  2. Position 2

How you see the other person

Your perception of the other person: how you see them, through your own filters.

How do I see the other person?

  3. Position 3

How the other person sees themselves

The image the other person seems to have of themselves, as a tendency.

How does the other person seem to see themselves?

  4. Position 4

    What they represent to you

The place and meaning the other person has in your life.

What do they represent to me?

  5. Position 5

    What you represent to them

The place and meaning you seem to have for the other person, as a tendency.

What do I represent to the other person?

  6. Position 6

    Obstacles

The difficulties standing between the two points of view: what creates distance.

    What separates us?

  7. Position 7

    Strengths

The positive aspects of the bond that you can count on.

    What can we count on?

  8. Position 8

    Probable result

Where the relationship leads if the forces stay as they are: a tendency.

    Where does the relationship lead?

How to read it

  • Kings, Queens, Knights and Pages point to energies and attitudes, not to the gender of the people.
  • The cards speak about the querent and the relationship: what concerns the other person is a tendency, not a reading of their mind.
  • The obstacles (6) are at the centre, between the two mutual meanings: they are what stands in the middle.

Positions to read together

  • How you see the other person ↔ How the other person sees themselves. Come vedi l'altra persona e come l'altra persona si vede: se le due immagini coincidono, o quanto distano.
  • What they represent to you ↔ What you represent to them.

Origin

The 'mirror': a modern spread for relationships already under way, which compares how you see each other and what you represent to one another.
