What does Three of Disks mean reversed?

The Thoth Tarot is traditionally read without reversed cards: the reader judges from the cards around it whether a card is well or ill dignified. This is its ill-dignified or blocked reading: Neglected work, difficult collaborations, projects blocked or badly built.

A reflective starting point

What is Three of Disks — Works asking you to look at?

Meaning changes with the position, the surrounding cards and your question. Take what follows as a language, not a verdict.

Read this card in a ritual Draw it from your own deck

Upright

Your work is taking shape: commit to it with care and collaborate with those who share the vision.

At first sight

Work well done, building, competence, productive collaboration. It points to projects taking shape, professional recognition, solid works.

Within you

The satisfaction of building with your own hands and with others; the patience that turns an idea into reality.

On the path

Earth in Binah, the Mother who gives form, with Mars exalted in Capricorn in the second decan: Martial energy becomes constructive labour. Works are form establishing itself, the pyramid rising from its foundations.

The shadow

Ill-dignified, it signals mediocrity, work without soul, selfishness, delays.

Reversed

In the Thoth tradition a reversed card is read through its dignity with the neighbouring cards; this is its shadow side.

Neglected work, difficult collaborations, projects blocked or badly built.

In love, work and spirit

Love. Building together: shared projects, home, family.

Work. Recognition, solid projects, teamwork, apprenticeship.

Spirit. Work as a path of spiritual realisation.

Crowley's note

In the Thoth deck a pyramid seen from above rests on three wheels representing Mercury, Sulphur and Salt, above the Great Sea of Binah: the construction rising from primordial form.
