New Venture Spread

A wheel of eight cards around your role in the venture: why you want it, what it can become, what you offer, what you underestimate, who you serve, how to serve them, what you need to start and how ready you are.

The positions

  1. Position 1

    Your role

The querent's place in the venture: the purpose and the energy that hold it up.

What is my role in this venture?

  2. Position 2

    The motivation

What really drives the start, beneath the stated reasons.

Why do I want to start it?

  3. Position 3

    The vision

What the venture can become if it grows according to its nature.

    What can it become?

  4. Position 4

    The offer

What the venture gives its customers: the product, the service, the value.

    What do I offer?

  5. Position 5

    The blind spot

What the querent underestimates or does not see yet.

    What am I underestimating?

  6. Position 6

    The customers

The people the venture speaks to and their real need.

Who am I really speaking to?

  7. Position 7

    How to serve them

The way to reach those customers and answer their need.

    How can I serve them?

  8. Position 8

    What you need to start

The means to bring together: skills, people, resources, time.

What do I need to start?

  9. Position 9

    Readiness

How ready the querent is to begin, and what is still missing.

    How ready am I?

How to read it

  • Card 1, at the centre, is the pivot: every card of the wheel is read in relation to the querent's role.
  • The blind spot (5) is not a sentence: it is what is worth looking at before investing time and money.
  • The cards read the calling and the moment; the business plan, permits and contracts need a professional.

Positions to read together

  • The motivation ↔ The vision. Motivazione e visione: se ciò che spinge porta davvero dove si vuole arrivare.
  • The offer ↔ The customers. L'offerta e i clienti: se ciò che si offre risponde al bisogno di chi si vuole servire.
  • The blind spot ↔ Readiness. Il punto cieco e la preparazione: ciò che manca ancora prima di partire.
  • How to serve them ↔ What you need to start. Come servire i clienti e che cosa serve per farlo: il piano concreto.

Origin

A modern nine-card spread for starting a business or a project, adapted from Labyrinthos' "Aligning With Your Higher Purpose" and Elvi Tarot's "Business Idea Check": the purpose at the centre and, around it, motivation, vision, offer, blind spot, customers, means and readiness.
